Lane Miller (4-0) remained undefeated on the season going into the seventh inning against the SIU (23-17, 10-5 MVC) offense, while Jared Spencer retired the final eight batters in a row to close out the win.

The Sycamores extended their winning streak to 14 consecutive games on Monday afternoon with the 7-2 win. The streak sits tied with Dallas Baptist (14) for the second-longest active streak in the NCAA Division I trailing just Army (15) nationally. ISU's 11 consecutive wins at Bob Warn Field is the longest active home winning streak in Division I.

Pottinger drove in the first three ISU runs with an RBI single in the third prior to his two-run home run in the fifth. He added his fourth RBI of the game in the three-run sixth inning with a run-scoring single bringing home Seth Gergely.

Keegan Watson added a three-hit game with a double and run scored, while Josue Urdaneta and Brown both had multi-hit efforts in the win. The Sycamores connected on 14 hits in the contest with all nine starters reaching base in the game.

Miller cruised through a majority of the contest as the redshirt senior surrendered just four hits and two runs over 6.1 innings of work. He tied a career-high with five strikeouts while allowing just one walk.

Spencer went the final 2.2 innings in his first appearance out of the bullpen on the weekend. The sophomore left-hander struck out four and retired all eight hitters he faced to close out the game.

Nathan Bandy had a two-hit day for Southern Illinois and Steven Loden homered to highlight the Salukis offense.

Matthew Steidl (2-6) took the loss after allowing three hits and three runs in 1.2 innings of relief. Jake Combs went the first 3.1 innings in the no-decision, while Easton Dermody closed out the game.
