ST. LOUIS – After a strong outdoor season opener, Indiana State hurdler
Quincy Armstrong was selected as the MVC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon.
Armstrong opened his outdoor season with a first-place finish in the 400m hurdles, running a time of 52.87 in the event. It was the fourth time in his career he ran a time under 53 seconds in the event, all of which have come in the last calendar year. Armstrong also placed fourth in the 110m hurdles with a career-best time of 14.74 (w: +0.9).
He ranks first in the MVC, third in the Great Lakes region, 22nd in NCAA East region qualifying and 35th in the nation in the 400m hurdles, and second in the MVC and sixth in the Great Lakes region in the 110m hurdles.
The weekly award is the first career weekly honor for Armstrong and Indiana State's first weekly honor during outdoor season. Indiana State won 10 MVC Athlete of the Week awards during indoor season, with
