PHILSTEELE.com – Indiana State offensive lineman
Jude McCoskey was named to the Phil Steele 2023 Freshman All-American team as honored by the organization on Friday. The freshman tackle was a Third Team selection in receiving the first postseason honors of his career.
McCoskey is the lone Sycamore representative on the squad and the first ISU player to earn Freshman honors since linebacker
Geoffrey Brown was honored back at the end of the 2021 season.
McCoskey started nine of the 11 games as a true freshman primary at right tackle. The Terre Haute, Ind. native made his debut on special teams against Eastern Illinois in the 2023 opener, before earning his first start on the big stage in Bloomington, Ind. against Indiana.
After seeing time back on the line against Ball State, McCoskey started the final eight games at right tackle on the year.
He paved the way for ISU to post 120.9 rushing yards and 264.5 yards of total offense per game and helped ISU win the time of possession battle in six of the eight MVFC games.
