TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State men's basketball opens the early portion of Missouri Valley Conference action on Tuesday at home vs Southern Illinois. The game tips at 7 p.m. on air on ESPN+ and on radio on 105.5 The Legend.

Series History
This matchup marks the 144th meeting between the Sycamores and Salukis, not falling in favor for ISU. The Salukis control the series 91-52; last year, the series was an even split at 1-1. ISU does hold a winning record at home, sitting at 36-33. The last meeting was on January 11, 2023 in the 2022-23 season. SIU defeated ISU in Terre Haute 69-61.

Last Time Out - Indiana State
Indiana State's Isaiah Swope ices the game with a three-pointer with 38 seconds remaining in the game to defeat the Toledo Rockets Friday afternoon, securing the three-game, Thanksgiving break trip. ISU beat Toledo 76-74 to move to 5-1 on the season.

For the fifth time this season, Swope led Indiana State in scoring with 23 points, knocking down five three point- ers while playing all 40 minutes. He snagged four steals moving his season total to 16. Jayson Kent used his second double-double of the season of 17 points and 11 rebounds to increase his season field-goal percentage to 65.2%. Ryan Conwell and Robbie Avila each recorded well-rounded efforts in the win. Conwell tallied 16 points and five rebounds, while Avila finished 11-7-3 with three steals. 

Last Time Out - SIU
Southern Illinois dished out 22 assists and knocked down 16 shots from 3-point range, in an 81-54 win over New Mexico State on Wednesday night. Four players scored in double figures for Southern, led by Johnson's 18. The contest featured key contributions off the bench by Jovan Stulic (13 points) and freshman Kennard Davis (12 points, six rebounds). Troy D'Amico added 13 points.
