Scott gave the Sycamores set point with a kill, and a pair of Evansville errors gave the opening frame to the Trees by a 26-24 margin.
Indiana State carried its momentum into the second set, as a service ace from
Emma Kaelin and a block assist by Baudin and Scott saw the Trees take a 7-4 lead. Indiana State further extended its lead to 13-8 following a Gall kill and a block assist from Scott and Gall, but Evansville rallied back. An 8-1 Purple Ace run saw the home side take a 16-14 lead, and Evansville never trailed for the remainder of the set. Holland had three kills during the four-point run, and finished with eight in the set. A pair of Holland kills kept the set tied at 23, but Evansville took the last two points to claim the third set 25-23.
Kaitlyn Hamilton got things going in the fourth set with a pair of kills, but Evansville went on a four-point scoring run and never looked back.
