TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball is heading to the Sunshine State as the Gulf Coast Showcase tournament field was released on Thursday afternoon. The three-day event is scheduled to run from November 21-23 in Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla.
 
The Sycamores will be one of eight men's teams competing over the Thanksgiving week. ISU joins Florida Gulf Coast (Atlantic Sun) and 2018 tournament champion Toledo (Mid-American) in a field that also includes Kansas City (Summit), East Carolina (American Athletic), Drexel (Colonial), UT Arlington (Sun Belt), and Northern Kentucky (Horizon).
 
Indiana State are scheduled to take on East Carolina in the Sycamores' tournament opener on Monday with tipoff set for 1:30 p.m. ET. The full tournament schedule is listed below:
 
Monday, November 21
11 a.m. ET – Toledo vs. Kansas City
1:30 p.m. ET – East Carolina vs. Indiana State
5 p.m. ET – Drexel vs. UT Arlington
7:30 p.m. ET – NKU vs. FGCU
 
Game times for Tuesday and Wednesday will be the same with semifinal games on Nov. 22 at 5/7:30. Wednesday's championship game will tip at 7:30 p.m.
 
The Sycamores trek to the Gulf Coast Showcase marks ISU's second Thanksgiving week tournament under the helm of head coach Josh Schertz. Indiana State competed in the Myrtle Beach Invitational in the 2021-22 season topping Old Dominion (77-36) in the opening game, before falling to Oklahoma (87-63) and New Mexico State (80-66)

Season tickets for the 2022-23 Indiana State men's basketball team are on sale now. The Sycamores will host 10 conference games to go along with the nonconference slate. For the first time, the Missouri Valley Conference will play a 20-game conference slate following the additions of Murray State, Belmont and Illinois-Chicago to the League beginning July 1, 2022.
