Hendrix picked up his second preseason recognition this year after previously being honored on the MVFC Preseason All-Conference team as selected by the league's head coaches, SID staffs, and media. The Florence, Ky. native was on the 2021 MVFC Postseason Honorable Mention squad after bouncing back from an early season injury that saw the wideout miss five games in the regular season.
He made an immediate impact in the lineup upon his returning posting 37 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns over the final five games of the season with a pair of 10-catch contests coming against Missouri State and Southern Illinois. Hendrix added his first 100-yard game of the season in the contest against the Bears with 10 catches for 121 yards and a score.
Brown picks up his first preseason accolade after a standout freshman campaign that led to Phil Steele Freshman All-American recognition. The Fishers, Ind. native led the Sycamores with 61 total tackles and finished second on the team behind
Inoke Moala with 8.5 tackles for loss. Brown posted four games with at least seven tackles in 2021 with a career-best 12 tackles coming in the season finale at Illinois State.
Vazquez IV started all 11 games at right guard for the Sycamores in the 2021 season. The Carol Stream, Ill. native helped pave the way for Indiana State to average 111.6 rushing yards and 291.2 yards of total offense per game in his redshirt sophomore campaign and added Phil Steele All-MVFC Third Team postseason recognition.
Edwards also added his first preseason accolade with the Sycamores. The sophomore defensive back finished second on the Indiana State roster with seven pass breakups in the 2021 season, while adding 32 tackles. Highlighting his freshman campaign included an eight-tackle game against Western Illinois, while the St. Louis, Mo. native added five tackles and three pass breakups in the ISU win over Youngstown State.
Stevens' Fourth Team selection is the first of his collegiate career as the tackle started in the first five games of the 2021 season. The Lee's Summit, Mo. native lined up in six games overall and is looking to bounce back after an injury-shortened season.
Hoover rounds out the Sycamores preseason All-Conference selections with the redshirt sophomore joining Stevens on the Fourth Team. The Fort Wayne, Ind. native flew around the ball in the 2021 season finishing third on the Sycamores with 48 total tackles, while adding an interception against Youngstown State.
