TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Five games into the season and former Sycamore
Jalen Booth continues to be a key part of the Tampa Bay Bandits in the United States Football League (USFL).
Through five games, the Bandits are 3-2 and sitting tied for second in the South Division behind the Birmingham Stallions (4-0). The Bandits are coming off a 27-20 win over the Michigan Panthers this past weekend.
Booth signed with the Bandits as a free agent prior to the first week of the 2022 season and has been putting in the work as the inaugural USFL season has continued. The entirety of the 2022 USFL season will be played in Birmingham, Ala. at both Protective Stadium and Legion Field.
He lined up in seven games in the 2021 season for Indiana State earning starts against South Dakota, Western Illinois, Missouri State, Youngstown State, and North Dakota State over his time with the Sycamores.
The San Diego, Calif. native helped ISU average 188.7 rushing yards per game and 233.6 passing yards per game as the Sycamores went 5-6 in the 2021 season. His five starts included Indiana State's top two rushing games of the 2021 season with 219 yards and two touchdowns against Western Illinois and 228 rushing yards and four TDs against Youngstown State.
