TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State basketball saw its 420-game streak with a 3-pointer come to an end Tuesday night after going 0-for-17 from behind the arc during a 65-56 loss to Evansville inside Hulman Center. The game marked the fourth-straight loss for the Sycamores as ISU fell to 9-14 overall and 2-9 in Missouri Valley Conference action.

Indiana State trailed the Aces (6-16, 2-9 MVC) at the half 33-23 after shooting 42 percent (8-19) from the field including 0-for-10 from deep. Antoine Smith Jr. dropped in 10 points in eight minutes off the bench for the Aces to lead all scorers after 20 minutes while
Kailex Stephens led ISU with six points.

The Sycamores opened the second half on a 14-4 run sparked by a reverse layup from
Julian Larry at the end of the shot clock. ISU continued to fight back and tied the game at the 11:02 mark when
Cameron Henry converted an and-one opportunity to make it 44-all.
Julian Larry pushed Indiana State on top 50-48 with a layup at the 7:18 mark -- the first lead for ISU since it was 6-4 in the first half.

At that point, UE locked in defensively and held ISU to 2-for-10 from the field while going 6-for-7 from the field and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe. The Aces closed out the game on a 17-6 run over the final seven minutes to secure their second MVC win of the season.

Four Sycamores scored in double-figures led by Henry with 15 points.
Cooper Neese dropped in 12 while
Kailex Stephens added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Julian Larry added 10 points and two steals while going 4-for-5 from the field.

Shamar Givance scored a game-high 19 points while dishing out four assists and grabbing five rebounds. Antoine Smith Jr. scored all 10 of his points in the first half as the only other Aces player to score in double-digits.

UP NEXT
Indiana State will make the return trek to Evansville on Thursday to take on the Aces. Tip is set for 7 p.m. from the Ford Center.
