Sycamores snap two-game skid, complete season sweep of Bradley

PEORIA, Ill.Del'Janae Williams scored a career-high 27 points Friday night, leading Indiana State to a wire-to-wire 83-63 win over Bradley inside Renaissance Coliseum.

Mya Glanton continued her strong form with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Anna McKendree added 12 off the bench for the Sycamores. Nine different players scored for Indiana State, with six scoring at least five points in the win.

Glanton opened the scoring on a jumper after grabbing a pair of offensive rebounds to set the tone for the game. A Natalia Lalic 3-pointer midway through the opening quarter broke a 6-all tie and gave Indiana State a lead it would hold for the rest of the game. The Sycamores led by double-digits for most of that stretch and closed the game on an 8-0 run.

First Half
Similar to its last game against Northern Iowa, Indiana State got off to a strong start on the offensive end. This time, however, the Sycamores sustained that throughout the quarter and took a double-digit lead after the opening frame. Glanton started things with a jumper from the paint and Marie Hunter followed up with a layup on the Sycamores' next offensive possession. Lalic's 3-pointer kickstarted a 7-0 Indiana State run with Williams and Glanton also scoring during the run. Williams was responsible for seven of ISU's final nine points in the quarter, including a fastbreak jumper inside the final minutes, as the Sycamores took a 22-10 lead to the second.

Caitlin Anderson opened the scoring in the second quarter with a jumper to extend the Sycamore lead, and though Bradley started to score via the free throw line, the Sycamores were able to keep the lead in double-digits for most of the quarter. Back-to-back baskets by Tonysha Curry and Williams prompted a Braves timeout after Indiana State's lead reached its largest of the half at 30-14. Essy Latu hit a 3-pointer late in the quarter and Williams followed with a jumper, but a trio of 3-pointers inside the final two minutes for Bradley cut the Sycamore lead to 39-32 at the halftime break.

Second Half
Marie Hunter began the third quarter with a 3-pointer that set the tone for the period, as the Sycamores put up 26 points in the frame. A floater by McKendree with just over seven minutes left put Indiana State in front by double-digits, and the Sycamores never led by less than 10 for the remainder of the game. Indiana State went on an 8-0 run late in the quarter, with Williams, Glanton and McKendree all contributing to the scoring during that span to push the lead to 18. Saving her best shot of the contest for the last play of the quarter, Williams hit a step-back 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Sycamores a 65-47 lead heading into the final frame.

Bradley opened the fourth quarter with a 10-3 run in the first two minutes, attempting to get back into the game. A pair of Hunter free throws and a Williams 3-pointer pushed the lead back to 16, and an Arianna Smith 3-point play off an inbounds play took the air out of the Renaissance Coliseum crowd. Indiana State closed the game on an 8-0 4un, with Lalic, Williams, Curry and McKendree all scoring inside the final 3:15 to close out a 20-point win on the road.
