Cooper Neese Tabbed Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS -- Indiana State's Cooper Neese has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the League office announced Monday. It marks the second weekly award of the season for the Sycamores.

Neese put together a massive week on the hardwood helping the Sycamores to a pair of wins. The Cloverdale, Indiana native averaged 25 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game over the week. During the stretch, Neese shot 18-for-21 (85.7 percent) from the free throw line while playing all but one minute -- averaging 43 minutes per game.

The sharpshooter put up a career high 35 points, six rebounds and five 3-pointers against Evansville in a double overtime win over the Aces -- becoming the 14th player in program history to record 35 points or more in a game. Neese came back the very next game and scored 28 points to help ISU rally from a 16-point deficit in a win over Illinois State.

Indiana State returns to the road on Tuesday with a matchup with Missouri State in Springfield. Tip with the Bears is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET from JQH Arena.
