EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Evansville outscored visiting Indiana State 24-6 in the fourth quarter Saturday evening, rallying from an 18-point deficit to beat the Sycamores 58-56 inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
Del'Janae Williams led the Sycamores with 15 points, while
Marie Hunter added nine.
Tonysha Curry and

Indiana State started slow, but picked up pace in the third quarter, using a 21-5 run to take a double-digit lead into the last 10 minutes. The Sycamores went cold in the fourth, though, and Evansville capitalized on ISU's mistakes to come back and win the game.
First Half
Indiana State got off to a slow start to begin the game, connecting on just one of its first seven shots. The Sycamores would recover, though, as Williams found Curry for a three-point play that kickstarted the ISU offense. Indiana State closed the quarter on a 5-0 run, including a 3-pointer by
Anna McKendree inside the final minute, to take a 12-9 lead after the opening 10 minutes.
Curry started the scoring in a 10-2 Sycamore run midway through the second quarter to push the Indiana State lead to eight points at 24-16, its largest of the half.
Natalia Lalic, Williams and Glanton all scored during the ISU run, while the Sycamore defense held the Purple Aces without a field goal for five minutes in the middle stages of the quarter. Evansville closed the quarter strong, but a basket by Smith with 2:18 left was the difference at the halftime break as Indiana State took a 26-24 lead to the intermission.
Second Half
Indiana State imposed its will in the third quarter, opening up a double-digit lead in the process.
Marie Hunter made a layup while fouled and Williams hit a 3-pointer to kickstart a 21-5 run for the Sycamores. Lalic, Hunter and McKendree all hit 3-pointers during the run, which saw Indiana State's lead grow to as many as 18, 50-32. The Sycamores took a 50-34 lead into the fourth.
The Sycamores could not get in a rhythm in the fourth, as Evansville outscored Indiana State 24-6 in the period. ISU made just two baskets in the quarter as the Purple Aces erased a 16-point deficit in the quarter to beat the Sycamores.
