JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Indiana State dominated the dual meet on Saturday afternoon at the UNF Competition Pool Complex as the Sycamores took 13 of the 14 event wins in topping host North Florida, 206-56.
Chloe Farro swept the 50 and 100-yard Freestyle events, while
Madie Rutan took both the 100 and 200-yard Backstroke wins to highlight Indiana State's final swim in the 2022 calendar year.

Marni Gray, and
Katie Dougherty also took home event wins on Saturday afternoon, while the Sycamores swept both relays to close out their time in Florida.
"Today was a solid effort at the end of a tough week of training," said head coach
Josh Christensen. "We were down a few folks, but we had others step up and fill the void. It was a fitting end to a great first semester for the team.
The Sycamores started off Saturday's meet taking the top two positions in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The A-Team featuring Rutan, Matsumoto, Gray, and Farro topped the field by nearly three seconds in 1:46.47, while the B-Team of
Trista Bullock,
Alexandria Cotter,
Raine Boles, and
Carmina Armstrong finished second in 1:49.24. The ISU C-Team finished fifth overall in the field with Olivia DiRuzza,
Makayla Sura, Rebecca Shaffer, and
Marissa Kozel touching the wall in 1:54.31. The final team of
Tori Johns,
Kamila Nowak, Dougherty, and
Rachel Sanqunetti finished sixth in 1:55.08.
Rydbeck Norden took the 1000-yard Freestyle event win leading four Sycamores that took the top-four positions in the field. The junior's 10:31.34 won the event by over nine seconds over teammate
Rhiannon Wozny (10:40.74), while
Rose Parsons (10:42.07, 3rd) and
Molly Fogarty (10:42.13, 4th) rounded out the group in the field.
Heagy topped the field in the 200-yard Freestyle as the freshman led four Sycamores in the top five of the event. Heagy's time of 1:54.02 topped UNF's Faith Mutschler to take the win, while Bullock (1:56.91, 3rd),
Jordan Gruce (1:57.90, 4th), and
Kalli Agapios (1:59.00, 5th) also competed in the field.
Rutan was the lone swimmer to go sub-60 seconds in the 100-yard Backstroke as the junior topped the field. Her time of 58.15 put her ahead of teammate Olivia DiRuzza (1:01.54, 2nd), while
Tori Johns finished sixth overall in the field in 1:03.15.
Matsumoto (1:06.21) and Szadorski (1:06.86) finished as the top two in the 100-yard Breaststroke to lead the Sycamores to another win in the field. Bukvic (1:09.20) finished fourth overall, while
Makayla Sura posted a top-eight finish in 1:12.84.
Halsall led a Sycamore sweep over the top four spots in the 200-yard Butterfly as the freshman topped the field in 2:06.99. Dougherty finished just behind her teammate in 2:07.84, while Gray claimed the third position in 2:09.00.
Colleen O'Connor rounded out the Sycamore quartet atop the standings in 2:11.72.
Farro, Boles, and Armstrong took the top three positions in the 50-yard Freestyle to lead the Sycamores to another event win. Farro's 24.21 led the field, while Boles (24.76) and Armstrong (24.95) were also atop the leaderboard. Kozel rounded out the group in the field in 25.66 to finish sixth.
Farro followed up by taking the individual win in the 100-yard Freestyle in the next event as the sophomore touched the wall in 52.70 to pick up her second win of the day. Szadorski finished second overall in 53.47, while Heagy (53.72, 5th) was also among the scorers for ISU in the event. Armstrong finished seventh overall in 56.04.
Rutan picked up her second win of the day in the 200-yard Backstroke as the junior touched the wall in 2:03.49 to lead four Sycamores in the top five in the event field. Agapios (2:03.92, 2nd), DiRuzza (2:10.42, 3rd), and Bullock (2:12.97, 5th) also finished among the leaders in the event.
Bukvic and O'Connor took the top two spots in the 200-yard Breaststroke to lead the Sycamores to another event win. Bukvic topped the field by three full seconds in 2:26.38 to record the win, while O'Connor finished second in 2:29.49. Nowak added a fourth-place result in 2:30.64, while Sura rounded out the group in eighth in 2:35.28.
Halsall led five Indiana State athletes that finished in the top six in the 500-yard Freestyle as the freshman touched the wall in 5:09.43 to finish second in the field. Wozny (5:15.18, 3rd), Gruce (5:17.40, 4th), Fogarty (5:18.47, 5th), and Parsons (5:19.19, 6th) were all among the leaders, while Rydbeck Norden finished eighth in the field in 5:19.75.
Gray topped the field in the 100-yard Butterfly as five Sycamores finished in the top six in the field. The senior touched the wall in 56.60 to win the event ahead of teammate Boles (57.91), while Dougherty was third overall in 59.01. Shaffer finished fifth overall in 1:00.15, while Matsumoto (1:00.62, 6th) and
Sarah Moreau (1:02.03, 8th) were also among the leaders.
Doughtery was first to the wall in the 200-yard IM as the Sycamores claimed the first seven spots on the leaderboard in the event. The junior touched the wall in 2:10.47 to take the event, while Szadorski (2:11.10, 2nd) and O'Connor (2:11.69, 3rd) were also in the top three. Halsall (2:14.88), Fogarty (2:15.69), Rydbeck Norden (2:15.84), and Bukvic (2:16.33) also finished among the tops in the field, while Sura (2:19.20, 9th) and DiRuzza (2:19.52, 11th) also competed.
The Sycamores took the top two spots in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay to wrap up the event. The team of Farro, Heagy, Agapios, and Szadorski took the top spot in 3:32.5, while Bullock, Armstrong, Matsumoto, and Gray finished second in 3:37.46. ISU added fifth and sixth-place results as Gruce, Wozny, Kozel, and Boles finished in 3:42.26, while Nowak, Johns, Moreau, and Sanqunetti finished in 3:52.27.
