TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer will finish their regular season with a road match against Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon at Brown Field which is set to kickoff at 1 p.m. ET. Sunday's match will stream live on ESPN3.
 
The Sycamores offense has been led by freshman Ella Gorrie who has six points on the season which includes a pair of assists and two goals, one of which was a game-winner against Evansville on September 22.
 
Another ISU freshman has shined on the defense end in 2022 as Adelaide Wolfe has been the anchor of the Sycamore defensive-half. Wolfe has started 14 out of 15 matches and leads Indiana State with 1,291 minutes of action and was named MVC Defensive Player of the Week on September 20.
 
In the net for the Sycamores, Tara Hoffman has made a huge leap in her senior campaign, making 55 saves in eight starts including a career-high 12 against UIC on October 20.
 
Record Within Reach
CeCe Wahlberg sits at 88 shots on goal for her career, just two from breaking the all-time ISU record. The current record is held by Lauren Podolski who finished her career with 89 and is being inducted into the Sycamore Hall of Fame next year.
 
A Look at Valpo
In his 15th season at the helm at Valpo, Beacons head coach John Marovich holds a 120-111-41 record both overall and at Valpo. The 2014 Horizon League Coach of the Year, Marovich holds Valpo's all-time records for both victories and winning percentage.
 
In the all-time series, Valpo holds a 12-3-2 lead over the Sycamores including a two-straight overtime wins for the Beacons.
 
Valpo is led by Addy Joiner who is one of the top goal scorers in the conference with six this season. Kelsie James and Allie Anderson have each recorded five assists on the season which ranks near the top of the MVC.
 
Nikki Coryell is an all-conference goalkeeper and has carried her success into 2022, recording 32 saves and holds a 0.44 GAA in MVC matches.

Sunday's match brings MVC Tournament implications for both squads as Valpo looks to win the regular season championship and earn the #1 seed while Indiana State can sneak into the field as the #8 seed with a victory and a Belmont loss.
