TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – All three Sycamores were back in action this past weekend as Jonas Griffith, Robert Tonyan Jr., and Dominique Dafney took the field for their respective teams on the second week of the National Football League 2021 season.
Griffith and the Denver Broncos took on the Jacksonville Jaguars in an early Sunday afternoon contest at TIAA Bank Field. The first-year pro saw time on the Broncos' special teams unit, but did not record a statistic in Denver's 23-13 win over the Jaguars.
The win propelled the Broncos to a 2-0 record heading into Week 3 of the season against the New York Jets. The September 26 game will be carried live on CBS with kickoff set for 4:05 p.m. ET.
Tonyan and Dafney were both on the roster for the Packers in their Monday night 35-17 win over the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. Tonyan hauled in all three of his targets for 52 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter that gave the Packers the 21-17 lead. Dafney continues to see time on special teams and did not record a statistic in the game.
The Packers (1-1) will be back in action also on September 26 as Green Bay heads to Levi's Stadium for a Sunday night game against the San Francisco 49ers. The game will be carried live on NBC with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
