TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer fell to Saint Louis 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium as they wrapped up their non-conference slate.
The Billikens took an early 1-0 lead as Hannah Sawyer scored in the 12
th minute on an Abbie Miller assist who found Sawyer open behind the Sycamore defense.
Sawyer got behind the defense and found the back of the net for a second time in the 22
nd minute with Miller recording her second assist of the match.
Saint Louis added another goal in the 49
th minute with Emily Gaebe scoring her team-high third of the season on a feed from Caroline Kelly.
Indiana State finished with the match with eight shot attempts.
Maddie Alexander made five saves for the Sycamores. Saint Louis recorded 20 shot attempts with Gaebe leading the way with seven. Goalie Emily Puricelli saved both shots she faced for the Billikens.
The loss drops Indiana State's record to 2-5-1. Saint Louis moves to 2-5-1 on the season.
The Sycamores will travel to Chicago on Friday to begin conference play with an 8 p.m. ET matchup against Loyola at Loyola Soccer Park.
