TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's basketball announced its 2021-22 nonconference schedule Monday (August 2). The nonconference slate features 14 contests, including matchups versus Purdue, Ball State and Old Dominion, as well as six home games inside renovated Hulman Center.
"I am happy with the schedule we were able to piece together under the circumstances," head coach
Josh Schertz said. "All credit to
Matthew Graves for his hard work on this. Finding five home games with such a late start is remarkable, and on top of that we've started some quality home and home series that our fans will enjoy."
ISU will play host to Rose-Hulman (Nov. 4) in an exhibition contest, Hanover (Nov. 14), Miami Ohio (Dec. 4), Alabama A&M (Dec. 18), Oakland City (Dec. 20) and Coppin State (Dec. 29).
Indiana State will play five true road games as well as three neutral site contests at the Myrtle Beach Invitational Nov. 18-21. The Sycamores open the MTE with Old Dominion and will either play Oklahoma or East Carolina in the second round.
The Sycamores open the regular season with two-straight games on the road, beginning with a trip to Green Bay (Nov. 9) before traveling to West Lafayette to face Purdue (Nov. 12) at Mackey Arena. The team will also play road games at Ball State (Nov. 27), North Dakota State (Dec. 13) and Northern Illinois (Dec. 22)
The Missouri Valley Conference schedule will feature an 18-game home-and-home slate and will be released in the coming weeks.
