EUGENE, Ore. – Indiana State women's triple jumper
Ryann Porter earned Honorable Mention All-American honors on Saturday evening in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She was just the second female in Indiana State history to qualify for the national meet in the triple jump.

The freshman took 24th-place in the triple jump behind a best attempt of 12.62m (41-05.00) on her second jump of the competition. She opened the competition with a leap of 12.54m (41-01.75) and concluded with a third attempt of 12.30m (40-04.25).

Porter's stellar freshman campaign came to an end following her performance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The week prior to the NCAA Championships she saw a personal-best performance in Jacksonville, Fla., in the East Preliminary round, claiming the last spot in the championship meet with a 12th-place finish and mark of 13.12 (43-00.50), the second-best mark in Sycamore history.

The Janesville, Wis., native can also claim a Missouri Valley Conference title in the triple jump after using her sixth attempt at the MVC Outdoor Championships to win with a leap of 12.91m (42-04.50). Entering the week of the MVC Championships, Porter used a best-jump of 12.82m (42-00.75) at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational to claim the top seed.

A multi-talented athlete, Porter also earned All-MVC honors at the Indoor Championships after earning bronze in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.81 en route to third. She also took fifth in the triple jump at 11.68m (38-04.00).

With the conclusion of the NCAA Championships, the Indiana State track and field season officially comes to a close. A small contingent of Sycamore athletes and alumnae will make their way to the USA Olympic and Paralympic Trials next week.
