Trio of Sycamores Enter Indiana State Top-10 at Kentucky Invite on Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – A trio of Sycamores entered the Indiana State top-10 list at the Kentucky Invitational on Friday to headline an afternoon of strong performances.

The men's high jumpers continued to build off of their strong season, led by a runner-up finish from freshman Kevin Krutsch. Krutsch earned silver after tying the ninth-best jump in Sycamore history of 2.12m (6-11.50) which pushes him to second in the Missouri Valley Conference, 21st in the NCAA East Region and 44th nationally.

Senior Nick Schultz placed right behind Krutsch in third with a clearance of 2.07m (6-09.75) while Nathan Kiger rounded-out the top-four with a jump of 2.02m (6-07.50).

It was like father, like son in the men's long jump at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex. Frankie Young III, whose father owns the school record in the long jump, had his best performance in a Sycamore uniform after placing fourth with the sixth-best jump in school history of 7.52m (24-08.25). His mark now leads the conference by over a foot and is 30th in the East.

Standout sprinter JaVaughn Moore had a career-day on the track for the Blue & White. In the 200-meter dash, the Marietta, Ga., native earned a bronze finish behind the seventh-best 200-meter dash time in ISU history of 21.05. He now owns the top time in the Valley.

Four Sycamores will represent Indiana State in the men's 100-meter dash final on Saturday. Moore led the way in the preliminary round with a third-place finish of 10.54 while Ejiroghene Biokoro took fourth at 10.59. Noah Malone placed eighth and Jhivon Wilson ninth to also qualify with times of 10.76 and 10.77, respectively.

On the track for the Indiana State women, Reynei Wallace was strong in the opening round of the women's 100-meter dash. Wallace ended her day in 12th after clocking a personal-best time of 11.98, pushing her to fifth in the conference.

In the field for the Trees, the men's and women's hammer throwers each placed an athlete in the top-eight of their events. Brittnee James led the way on the women's side, placing sixth with a toss of 54.70m (179-05) while Noah Bolt took seventh on the men's side at 52.47m (172-01).

Day two of the Kentucky Invitational will get started on Saturday afternoon at noon ET with the women's 4X100-meter relay.
