Quiles Clocks Second-Best Steeplechase Time in ISU History at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa – Indiana State senior Jocelyn Quiles represented Sycamore track and field well at day one of the Drake Relays, running the second-fastest time in school history in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

The lone Sycamore to compete at day one of the relays, Quiles placed sixth in the university division of the 3000-meter steeplechase with the second-best time in Indiana State history of 10:39.56. Sitting in ninth with one lap to go, the senior recorded an impressive final split of 1:20.80 to battle up to sixth-place. She now follows just Taylor Austin in the record book for the Blue & White.

The Trees are back in action on Friday afternoon, starting at 2:30 p.m. ET with Ryann Porter in the women's triple jump. Action on the track for the Sycamores is slated to begin at 3:18 p.m. ET with the women's sprint medley relay.
