Indiana State Drops Double Header to Northern Iowa

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State softball team dropped its doubleheader against Northern Iowa Saturday afternoon. The Sycamores (6-14) fell in a heartbreaker in game one by a score of 6-4 and dropped the second by a score of 3-2 in extra innings at Price Field.

KEY MOMENT – GAME ONE
Mallory Marsicek returned to the field for the Sycamores going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Amanda Guercio connected on her fourth home run of the season, but the Sycamores fell short of the Panthers.

SCORING SUMMARY – GAME ONE
Bottom 2nd – (UNI 0, ISU 1)
Mallory Marsicek brought in the first ISU run with an RBI single to centerfield.

Top 4th – (UNI 4, ISU 1)
Northern Iowa put up four runs on a double and a single.

Bottom 5th – (UNI 4, ISU 2)
TeAnn Bringle cut the Panther lead in half with a single up the middle.

Top 6th – (UNI 5, ISU 2)
The Panthers added to their lead with a sacrifice fly.

Amanda Guercio homered to pull the Sycamores within a run.

Northern Iowa added a run with a double.
