Ramblers' Second Half Surge Downs Sycamores

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – After scoring its first first-half goal of the season, the Indiana State soccer team surrendered five second half tallies to Missouri Valley Conference leader Loyola and ultimately fell 5-1 at ISU Memorial Stadium.
 
The Sycamores (3-3-0, 3-2-0 MVC) now trail the Ramblers (5-0-1, 5-0-1 MVC) by seven points in the standings with three regular season matches to play.
 
KEY MOMENTS
- Freshman Katie Yankey scored her second goal of the season in the 29th minute of the contest, set up beautifully by sophomore CeCe Wahlburg, who earned her first assist of the 2021 spring campaign.
- The flurry of Loyola goals started shortly into the second half, pulling even at 1-1 in the 47th minute of play.
- Loyola pulled ahead with a goal in the 51st minute, and put real distance between themselves and the Sycamores with another goal just moments later.
- LUC scored its final two tallies 30 seconds apart, scoring goal four and five in the 55th minute.
