TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana State softball team dropped its doubleheader against Illinois State on Saturday afternoon. The Sycamores (6-12) fell in a heartbreaker in game one by a score of 4-3, and dropped the second by a score of 10-0 at Price Field.
KEY MOMENT – GAME ONE
The Sycamores battled but couldn't complete the comeback.
Bella Peterson led Indiana State going 2-for-4 with two doubles off the wall recording an RBI.

Top 1st – (ILS 4, ISU 0)
The Redbirds led off the game with the long ball to get their first run of the game. Illinois State added three more runs from two bases loaded walks and a sacrifice fly.
Bottom 4th – (ILS 4, ISU 2)
Bella Peterson ended the hit drought with a double off the center field wall. Isabella Henning reached on an error and Peterson scored on a wild pitch. Annie Tokarek battled to plate the second run of the inning for the Trees with a single to left field.
Bottom 5th – (ILS 4, ISU 3)
Abi Chipps singled and stole second, then scored on Bella Peterson's second double of the day.

KEY MOMENT – GAME TWO
Indiana State's offense went cold in game two only recording two hits, from
Abi Chipps and
Isabella Henning. The Sycamore defense did turn its fourth double play of the season as
Bella Peterson threw out a Redbird trying to score on a sacrifice fly.
