ST. LOUIS – Indiana State high jumper Kevin Krutsch has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Indiana State Invitational, the Valley announced Wednesday morning.
 
Earning his first Athlete of the Week honor in his career, Krutsch was victorious in the men's high jump on Saturday, walking away with a win after tying a personal-best clearance of 2.11m (6-11.00). The freshman sits atop the Missouri Valley Conference standings with teammate Nick Schultz, with the next closest clearance coming at 2.02m (6-07.50). He is also 26th in the nation.
 
Indiana State returns to action this Friday, Feb. 15 when they travel to Charleston, Ill., for the EIU Friday Night Special.
