TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Back-to-back starts and back-to-back big games for
Jonas Griffith as the former Indiana State linebacker highlights this week's Sycamores in the NFL.
Griffith made his debut in the Denver Broncos starting lineup in Week 15 as the first-year pro took the field against the Cincinnati Bengals. Griffith was around the ball all day in the Broncos' 15-10 loss to the Bengals finishing first on the team with seven solo tackles and second overall on the squad with eight stops on the afternoon. He added a tackle for loss midway through the second quarter and added two quarterback hurries.
This past weekend, Griffith took it to the next level as No. 50 showcased why he was one of the top linebackers in Indiana State history. He finished with a Sycamores NFL-record 13 tackles on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders and added two tackles for loss in the 17-13 loss. Ten of his tackles and both stops behind the line of scrimmage came in the first half, while he was on the field for 56 of Denver's 69 defensive snaps.
Dominique Dafney was inactive in the Green Bay Packers' game on Week 15 against the Baltimore Ravens, but the former Sycamore was back on the field this past Saturday against the Cleveland Browns. Dafney saw eight snaps in the contest with five coming on special teams in the Packers' 24-22 win over Cleveland.
