MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Indiana State will wrap up a stretch of six games over 12 days to open the season when the team plays in the third-place game of the Myrtle Beach Invitational against New Mexico State Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN 2 as well as on the radio on 105.5 The Legend in the Wabash Valley and on GoSycamores.com/Listen worldwide.
 
MASK POLICY
Coastal Carolina University is announcing a new practice effective August 18, 2021: All individuals, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear face coverings indoors. Fans may remove masks while eating or drinking but should mask at all other times while in the HTC Center. Athletes and coaches may remove masks while they are in the bench area.
 
CLEAR BAG POLICY
In order to expedite entry and provide a safe and secure environment for fans, Coastal Carolina University has implemented a Clear Bag Policy for all events on campus. Along with numerous institutions around the country, the state of South Carolina and professional sports around the world, this policy limits the size and style of bags carried into the HTC Center. » ISU is coming off an 87-63 loss to Oklahoma Friday night in the semifinals of the Myrtle Beach Invitational after defeating Old Dominion in the opener.
 
» Sunday's matchup with New Mexico State will mark the 15th game between the two programs with each winning seven games apiece. The series began in 1978 with the last meeting happening in 1983. Indiana State won five-straight games from 1978-79. The Aggies have won the last two meetings, both coming in January of the 1983 season.
 
» Cameron Henry continues to dominate the court, scoring in double-figures each of the first five games for Indiana State, including a pair of double-doubles. Henry recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds in the first half in a win over ODU to open the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Henry finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the win. The guard is averaging 15 points and 6.8 rebounds on the year. The guard scored a career high 25 points in a loss to Oklahoma in the MBI semifinal.
 
» Indiana State put together one of the best defensive performances in program history against Old Dominion in a 77-36 victory over the Monarchs. ISU at one point led by 48 points while holding ODU without a field goal for six minutes in the first half as well as an eight-minute stretch in the second half. ISU held the Monarchs to just 21.6 percent (11-of-51) from the field and just three made baskets from distance. The 41-point margin over ODU was the second largest over a Division I opponent in ISU's D-I history dating to the 1971-72 season. ISU defeated Charleston Southern 102-55 in 1977.
