  • Pre-Championship Polls: The Missouri Valley Conference posted their pre-championship poll on Wednesday and both Sycamore track & field teams were tabbed third. On the men's side, Northern Iowa was chosen to finish first with 77 total points and seven first-place votes. Illinois State was voted second with 75 points and three first-place votes, while the Blue & White were tabbed third with 62 total points. The Sycamores were picked ahead of Southern Illinois (51), Loyola (44), Bradley (32), Drake (32), Valparaiso (24) and Evansville (10). The Illinois State women were the unanimous vote to win the MVC crown, tallying all 10 first-place votes and 100 total points. Southern Illinois was selected second with 85 points while the Sycamores took the third position with 80 points. ISU was chosen ahead of Northern Iowa (75), Loyola (58), Missouri State (52), Drake (36), Bradley (30), Evansville (19) and Valparaiso (15).
  • Event Squad Rankings: Indiana State's men have four event groups now ranked in the top-25 of their respective USTFCCCA event squad rankings. Event squad rankings places a rank order to a program's "squad" of athletes in a particular event, using the cumulative season-best qualifying marks from a team's top-four ranked athletes on the national descending-order list. The Sycamore high jumpers lead the way in 20th with an average mark of 2.04m (6-08.25), while the men's 60-meter hurdlers are 22nd at 8.14. Newly in the top-25, the ISU shot putters are 23rd in the nation with an average toss of 16.18m (53-01.25) and the long jumpers are 24th at 7.16m (23-05.75).
  • Movin' On Up: For the first time during the 2020 indoor track & field season, the Indiana State men's team has entered the top-15 in the Great Lakes Regional rankings. ISU enters the weekend ranked 14th in the Great Lakes Region with a TFRI of 54.85, moving up two spots from their ranking of 16th last week. The Sycamores and Northern Iowa are the only two MVC schools ranked in the top-15 of their respective regions.
  • Track Athlete of the Week: After putting on a stellar performance at the Hoosier Hills meet two weeks ago, Ince remained hot for the Sycamores in the hurdles. The senior hurdler clocked another new career-best time in the 60-meter hurdles of 8.46 en route to a second-place finish at the EIU Friday Night Special, falling only to Sycamore alum and school record holder, Ayanna Morgan. Not only is Ince's time the fourth-fastest in school history, it also leads the Valley by .11.
