TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Sycamore Softball will head south to play in the Hilltopper Classic Tournament in Bowling Green, Ky. on the campus of Western Kentucky University.
First pitch of the tournament against Ball State is slated for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21. The Sycamores will also face off against Western Kentucky later that evening at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, the blue and white will play Green Bay at 11:00 a.m. and will play at 4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. depending on the seeding.
Finally, the tournament will wrap up on Sunday, Feb. 23, and the trees will play in a consolation or championship game at 12 p.m. or 2:30 p.m.
Leslie Sims lead the Sycamores with a .647 batting average over the last weekend. Sims went 11-for-17 over a total of five games, with three RBIs and four stolen bases, bringing her season total to seven.
Mallory Marsicek had a .357 batting average over the weekend. Marsicek went 5-for-12 with two RBIs and hitting her first homer of the season with a solo shot in the game against Chattanooga.

Series History
- Western Kentucky holds a 9-1 lead all time over the Sycamores and have won the last five. The last meeting between the two was in February of last year.
- Indiana State holds the 3-1 lead all time against Green Bay. Last meeting was in 2018.
- Ball State and the Sycamores have met many times in school history, the Cardinals hold the lead, 31-27. Last meeting was in 2017.

- Top Sycamores
Lexie Siwek and Leslie Sims are currently on the top of the Missouri Valley Conference. Siwek started in her second career game this past weekend. She is hitting .667 with two runs scored and currently has the number one batting average in the conference. Leslie Sims is tied for second hitting .500 with five RBIs, three walks, and five stolen bases.
- Swinging Sycamores
Indiana State leads the Missouri Valley Conference with a .308 batting average scoring 35 runs, on 76 hits, 12 doubles, four homeruns, and 32 RBIs. The blue and white are third in the valley overall with their 76 hits.
- Speedy Sims
Leslie Sims is tied for fourth overall the conference with five stolen bases. Sims is leading the conference with 16 hits.
