CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Indiana State came up short over Marshall losing 9-1 in five innings. The Sycamores couldn't come up with a run in the top of the fifth to avoid the run-rule.
The Sycamores would score their first and only run in the top of the first inning with a one-run double from junior
Bella Peterson. Peterson hit two doubles in the contest for a season high.

Marshall came out hot in the bottom of the first putting up five runs in the bottom of the first inning batting through their entire lineup.
They added some insurance runs in the bottom of the second with a three-run homerun. The Thundering Herd answered again adding a cushion with a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth to seal the deal.
Gabbi Schnaiter (0-2) was charged with the loss in 0.1 innings of work allowing five runs (all earned) on five hits with one walk and no strikeouts. Laney Jones got the start for Marshall, allowing one run (earned) on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts as she pitched the complete game.
