TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State basketball opens the 2020-21 season playing host to Truman State on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. inside renovated Hulman Center, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN3. Attendance is limited to essential personnel and ISU student-athletes family members.

AT A GLANCE
Eleventh-year head coach Greg Lansing returns a wealth of experience from last season's 18-12 team, including first-team All-MVC selection Tyreke Key. The Sycamores will also look for forward Jake LaRavia to continue his upward trends following a strong freshman campaign. LaRavia earned a spot on this year's preseason Second Team after being named to the league's All-Newcomer and All-Freshman teams a year ago. Lansing returns seven letterwinners from a year ago, including four starters. Cooper Neese (7.3 PPG) and Tre Williams (7.2 PPG) join Key and LaRavia while the Sycamores will also have Cam Bacote, Cobie Barnes and Keon Sellers returning. ISU added seven newcomers, including two graduate transfers in Tobias Howard Jr. (Towson) and Randy Miller Jr. (North Carolina Central).

A RENOVATED HULMAN CENTER
The Sycamores will be playing this season in the newly renovated Hulman Center. Used by Sycamore basketball since its opening  in the early 1970's, Hulman Center received a complete renovation that included new mechanical systems, updates to safety fire suppression systems, new concessions, restrooms, freight elevator, 10,000 square foot welcome pavilion, new box suite, emergency medical triage suite, and exterior plaza and garden space connecting with the Wabash Avenue Arts District of Terre Haute. The renovations now allow for natural light in the Hulman Center as well.

HULMAN CENTER DOMINANCE IN 2019-20
Indiana State went 12-1 at Hulman Center in 2019-20, the best mark under head coach Greg Lansing. The Sycamores hadn't won 10 games or more at home since 2015-16 season. Out of the 13 home games in 2019-20, Indiana State held opponents to 60 points or less in nine, with six of the nine contests being Missouri Valley Conference games.

TYREKE KEY AND JAKE LARAVIA NAMED EARN MVC PRESEASON HONORS
Two returning standouts on the Indiana State men's basketball team received preseason recognition as Tyreke Key was named First Team while Jake LaRavia was named to Second Team. A senior guard for the Sycamores, Key paved the way for ISU a year ago, averaging a team high 15.6 points per contest. Along with his scoring output Key also pulled down 4.6 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game. A consistent shooter at the charity stripe, Key set a program record and the 14th-longest streak in MVC history with 32 consecutive makes at the free throw line from Nov. 17-Dec. 3. The fourth-fastest player to join the 1,000-point club in program history, Key sits 16th all time with 1,255 career points scored with a chance to jump into the top-10 -- needing just 200 points. LaRavia was named to the MVC All-Freshman Team and All-Newcomers Team after seeing action in 30 games, including 25 starts. Averaging 9.4 points per game for the Sycamores, LaRavia also ranked ninth best in the league in rebounding with a mark of 5.9 per game. He has hit 53 percent of his shots this season which is 10th-best in the Valley. His 35 blocked shots ranked fourth in the league and his 2.5 offensive rebounds per game are fourth.
