TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State head baseball coach Mitch Hannahs has announced his 2021 signing class Tuesday. The class consists of 14 new Sycamores who will continue their academic and athletic careers at Indiana State.

Henry Brown, IF, R/R, 6-4, 190, Evansville, Ind. (Evansville Central HS)
 
Helped Evansville Central High School to a SIAC Championship in 2019 ... Earned four varsity letters under head coach Michael Goedde ... A three-time Academic All-City honoree in basketball, a two-time Academic All-City honoree in baseball while earning the honor once in tennis ... Ranked the 10^th-best infielder in the state of Indiana by Prep Baseball Report.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Brown: Henry has an athletic body with the ability to play on the left side of the diamond. He possesses the rare physicality plus finesse that we look for in an infielder. 
 
Brennyn Cutts, RHP, R/R, 6-3, 220, Greenup, Ill. (Toledo Cumberland HS)
 
A multisport student-athlete at Toledo Cumberland High School under head coach Mark Jackley ... Played four years of baseball and helped the Pirates to conference championships in 2018 and 2019 ... Unanimously named First Team All-Conference as a freshman ... Named First Team All-Conference as a sophomore ... Also played basketball ... Named All-Area his sophomore and junior seasons ... Ranked the sixth-best player in the state of Illinois and a Top 400 recruit nationally by Prep Baseball Report.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Cutts: Brennyn was the first player to commit to us in the 2021 class. A bulldog with a durable frame who we expect to compete for innings early in his career. He features a solid mix of pitches including a fastball up to 93 to go along with his polished secondary offerings.
 
Randal Diaz-Morales, IF, R/R, 6-1, 190, Toa Alta, Puerto Rico (Leadership Christian Academy)
 
Ranked the 12^th-best infielder in Puerto Rico ...  Named to the 2020 Perfect Game Underclassmen All-American Team ... Ranked Top 500 nationally by Perfect Game … Comes from the same high school as ISU infielder Diego Gines.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Diaz-Morales: Randal is a physical infielder than can play all three infield positions very well. In addition to his defense, he possesses a good swing and runs extremely well. He will be a great addition to Sycamore Baseball next fall.
 
Matt Gauer, RHP, R/R, 6-5, 190, Terre Haute, Ind. (Terre Haute North HS)
 
Played baseball at Terre Haute North High School ... Ranked the 14^th-best pitcher and the 29^th-best recruit overall in the state of Indiana by Prep Baseball Report.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Gauer: Matt has blossomed over the last few months and is a local talent we are excited to have join our program. With an ideal pitcher's frame, and a high-spin fastball currently up to 89 we are excited to help tap into his potential. 
 
Luis Hernandez, C, R/R, 6-1, 185, Gurabo, Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Baseball Academy)
 
Ranked in the Top 1000 nationally by Perfect Game ... Named Preseason Puerto Rico First Team All-Region in 2020.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Hernandez: Luis is a very athletic catcher that receives well, throws well, and runs well. We are thrilled he will be joining our program next year and are excited to watch him continue to develop. He has spent the last few years at Puerto Rico Baseball Academy which has a long tradition of sending outstanding baseball players to college and professional baseball.
 
Landen Johnson, LHP/IF, 6-4, 210, Ellisville, Mo. (Westminster Christian Academy)
 
A three-year varsity letterwinner at Westminster Christian Academy under head coach Dan Petke ... Helped the Wildcats to a 2019 runner-up finish class 4A state championship ... Named a Preseason Underclassmen All-American by Perfect Game ... Ranked the second-best player at his position and the 32^nd-best recruit overall in the state of Missouri by Prep Baseball Report … Comes from the same high school as ISU infielder Dominic Cusumano.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Johnson: We anticipate Landen competing for us on the mound and at first base. He creates a tough angle on the mound to go along with his solid secondary offerings. As a hitter, Landen continues to get better and provides some punch from the left side.
 
Trett Joles, C, R/R, 5-11, 195, Boyceville, Wisc. (Boyceville HS)
 
Earned MVP honors as a freshman at Boyceville High School ... Was a National Champion in wrestling in 2018 … A member of the Cincinnati Reds Scout Team ... Ranked the fourth-best catcher in the state of Wisconsin by Prep Baseball Report.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Joles: Trett possesses all the traits we look for in a backstop. He is a relentless worker who has won multiple state championships as a wrestler and is ranked amongst the best in the nation. On top of that, his physical tools as a baseball player are off the charts. We are glad that Trett chose to play baseball in college as he had many options for wrestling so we are eager to see what he will become once he focuses solely on baseball. 
 
Evan Magill, RHP, R/R, 6-1, 200, Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Mountain Vista HS)

Coach Vanderglas on Magill: Evan offers a heavy fastball to complement his plus slider. He will be joining his brother Grant on our team and we expect him to make a tremendous impact on our program. 
 
Aaron Moss, UTIL/RHP, R/R, 5-10, 155, St. Louis, Mo. (Lindbergh Academy)

Coach Vanderglas on Moss: Aaron is an extremely athletic quick-twitch type player who we anticipate competing for us in a variety of ways. The versatility he brings will be extremely valuable as he can bounce around the diamond and will also pitch for us.
  
Trey Reed, RHP, R/R, 6-5, 210, Washington, Ind. (Washington HS)

Coach Vanderglas on Reed: Trey is a special athlete. He had an impressive high school football career and broke numerous records as the starting quarterback along the way. On the mound, his upside is tremendous with a fastball that has been in the low 90's to go along with a great feel of his secondary offerings.
 
Jared Spencer, LHP, L/L, 6-3, 190, Centreville, Mich. (Centreville HS)
 
A four-year varsity letterwinner under head coach Jeff Spencer ... Helped the Bulldogs to a conference championship ... Named All-League and All-District ... A Sturgis Journal Dream Team member ... Also played four years of football and a year of basketball.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Spencer: Jared flew under the radar a little bit in the recruiting process. We couldn't be more excited to add another extremely talented left-handed pitcher to our program. Jared really thrived this past summer and currently features a fastball in the upper 80's with more in the tank. 
 
Jack Taulman, UTIL, S/R, 6-0, 180, Noblesville, Ind. (Lawrence North HS)

Coach Vanderglas on Taulman: Jack is a switch-hitter that has the athleticism to compete for time behind the plate and in the outfield. He has solid physical tools across the board and isn't scared to compete.
 
Isaiah Thompson, OF/LHP, L/L, 6-0, 175, Springfield, Ill. (Sacred-Heart Griffin HS)
 
A four-year letterwinner at Sacred-Heart Griffin High School under head coach Nick Namauvich ... Played in the outfield and pitched for the Cyclones ... Earned All-Metro Baseball accolades ... Was also an All-State football player at quarterback ... Ranked the third-best outfielder in the state of Illinois by Prep Baseball Report.
 
Coach Vanderglas on Thompson: Isaiah is another premium athlete to join us this year. He is a fearless competitor and recently wrapped up an outstanding football career as the starting quarterback for Sacred-Heart Griffin. He tracks the ball extremely well in centerfield and possesses good bat to ball skills from the left side. He also could help us on the mound with a solid three-pitch mix. PBR ranks him as the 3rd best OF in the state of Illinois. 
 
Clayton Taylor, RHP, R/R, 6-1, 170, Columbus, Ind. (Columbus East HS)
 
Played baseball at Columbus East High School ... Ranked the 27^th-best pitcher and the 51^st-best recruit in the state of Indiana by Prep Baseball Report
 
Coach Vanderglas on Taylor: Clayton has come into his own over the last six months. He attacks hitters and currently offers a fastball up to 92 MPH. He was a high school teammate of right-handed pitcher Cole Gilley.
