Mitch Hannahs has announced his 2021 signing class Tuesday. The class consists of 14 new Sycamores who will continue their academic and athletic careers at Indiana State.

Coach Vanderglas on Cutts: Brennyn was the first player to commit to us in the 2021 class. A bulldog with a durable frame who we expect to compete for innings early in his career. He features a solid mix of pitches including a fastball up to 93 to go along with his polished secondary offerings.

Coach Vanderglas on Johnson: We anticipate Landen competing for us on the mound and at first base. He creates a tough angle on the mound to go along with his solid secondary offerings. As a hitter, Landen continues to get better and provides some punch from the left side.

Coach Vanderglas on Joles: Trett possesses all the traits we look for in a backstop. He is a relentless worker who has won multiple state championships as a wrestler and is ranked amongst the best in the nation. On top of that, his physical tools as a baseball player are off the charts. We are glad that Trett chose to play baseball in college as he had many options for wrestling so we are eager to see what he will become once he focuses solely on baseball.Â

Coach Vanderglas on Thompson: Isaiah is another premium athlete to join us this year. He is a fearless competitor and recently wrapped up an outstanding football career as the starting quarterback for Sacred-Heart Griffin. He tracks the ball extremely well in centerfield and possesses good bat to ball skills from the left side. He also could help us on the mound with a solid three-pitch mix. PBR ranks him as the 3rd best OF in the state of Illinois.Â

Coach Vanderglas on Taylor: Clayton has come into his own over the last six months. He attacks hitters and currently offers a fastball up to 92 MPH. He was a high school teammate of right-handed pitcher Cole Gilley.
