NOTES
- Last Time Out: Indiana State track & field fell for the third-consecutive year at the Coughlan/Malloy Cup last Friday, falling by a score of 186-138. The Sycamore men battled to a close team-race finish, but the Redbirds finished with an 84-78 advantage while the Redbirds women were in control for most of the night with a 102-60 victory. Indiana State is now 12-4 all-time in the Coughlan/Malloy Cup.
- 2019 JG Invite: The Sycamore men and women were both victorious in the inaugural John Gartland Invitational in 2019. Indiana State's men tallied 130 points and defeated Southern Illinois (116) and DePaul (52) behind seven event victories. On the women's side, ISU claimed the win with 172 points, defeating Southern Illinois (127), Missouri State (114) and DePaul (68) behind six event wins.
- Track Athlete of the Week: Allana Ince made her season-debut at the Coughlan/Malloy Cup for Indiana State and earned her first victory in the 60-meter hurdles since Jan. 12, 2019. The Barbados native crossed the line with the fifth-best time in school history of 8.60, .11 in front of Illinois State's Mya Robinson. Ince's time now sits atop the Missouri Valley Conference.
- Bringing Back 'Hurdle U': Sycamore hurdlers Matthew Lewis-Banks and Allana Ince had huge performances for the blue and white at the Coughlan/Malloy Cup. Lewis-Banks ran the ninth-fastest 60-meter hurdles time in school history of 7.92, which is 34th in the nation and first in the Valley, while Ince ran the fifth-best time in school history on the women's side of 8.60.
- Young Teams, Big Expectations: Both Sycamore track & field teams boast young rosters. The Sycamore women welcome 17 newcomers to their squad to go along with a total of 32 underclassmen. The Sycamore men, while young last year, remain young with 19 newcomers and 40 total underclassmen. Despite the youth, both teams have high expectations as the women were picked to finish second in the Valley and the men third.
