COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Indiana State Football alum
Tate Leavitt has signed with the Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League, the club announced.

A Thornville, Ohio native, Leavitt was a key piece of the Sycamores success up front on the offensive line in 2018, starting all 11 games at left tackle. He helped the Sycamores to 241.5 rushing yards per game which ranked 14th nationally.

Leavitt, who earned Missouri Valley Football Conference All-Newcomer and Honorable Mention All-MVFC accolades was key in the passing game as well as the Sycamores threw for 2,559 yards and 18 touchdowns. Indiana State finished the regular season fifth nationally, converting 42-of-46 (91.3 percent) chances in the red zone.

ISU finished with 2,656 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns in 2018 after running for just 1,185 yards and seven rushing touchdowns in 2017. Four different Sycamores (Keys, McCoy, Boyle, Kerlegrand) rushed for 100 or more yards in 2018.
