ST. LOUIS -- Just weeks after being selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2019 MLB Draft, Indiana State's
Jake Means has been tabbed a finalist for the Rawlings Gold Glove at third base.

Means is coming off a superb senior campaign in which he was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Year. A First Team All-MVC and All-Defensive team member in 2018, Means finished the 2019 season with a .286 batting average and led ISU with 42 RBIs and 17 hit-by-pitch.

He was second on team with a .417 on-base percentage and 33 walks. A Gardner, Kansas product, Means assisted on 127 outs and recorded 49 putouts for a .972 fielding percentage.

During his two-year career at ISU, Means went for a .449 slugging percentage, 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 62 RBI in 97 starts.
