TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State baseball team was selected as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Nashville Regional hosted by the No. 2 overall seed Vanderbilt Commodores. The Sycamores open postseason play on Friday, May 31 at 1 p.m. ET against No. 3 seed McNeese.

Indiana State earned its 10th NCAA postseason appearance in program history and the second under head coach
Mitch Hannahs. The Sycamores head to Nashville with an overall record of 41-16 after winning the seventh MVC Tournament Championship in program history.

The Commodores (49-10) are hosting the for the seventh time in program history. The NCAA Nashville Regional is paired with the Morgantown Regional, hosted by West Virginia.Â

The McNeese Cowboys won their first Southland Conference Tournament Championship since 2003 and enter the regional with a 35-24 record. Rounding out the field is four-seed Ohio State (35-25) after the Buckeyes earned the BIG 10 automatic win with a tournament championship.
