18 Sycamore Track & Field Athletes Earn MVC Scholar-Athlete Honors

ST. LOUIS - The Indiana State Track & Field teams had 18 student-athletes named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team for the 2019 season, the Valley announced Wednesday morning.
 
In order to be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing and hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. They must also have finished within the top-eight of an individual event or the top-three of a relay at either the MVC Indoor or Outdoor Championships in 2019. Freshmen are not eligible.
 
Of the 18 total honorees for the Sycamores, which was an increase from 17 in 2018, seven were men and 11 were women.  On the men's side, four Sycamores are returning honorees, while the remaining four made the team for the first time in their ISU careers. The women had three returning members as well, with the remaining eight being first-time members. Indiana State's 18 honorees were the third-most in the MVC with Southern Illinois, trailing only Bradley's 19 and Illinois State's 27.
 
The honorees for the men were: senior Ryan Cash, sophomore Cale Kilian, senior Akis Medrano, senior Joshua Perry, senior Quentin Pierce, sophomore Nick Schultz and senior Riley Smith.
 
Honored for the women were: sophomore Hanna Atwood, junior Imani Davis, senior DeAndra Greer, redshirt sophomore Kristine Lindow, redshirt sophomore Jezel Martin, senior Ayanna Morgan, sophomore Jocelyn Quiles, senior Caitlyn Redmon, redshirt senior Erin Reese, redshirt senior Cassaundra Roper and junior Alli Workman.
