TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State junior
Max Wright was recognized for his success on the field and in the classroom on Thursday (May 9) as he was named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team selected by CoSIDA.
Wright has started 41 games for Indiana State and holds a .309 batting average to go along with four home runs and 32 RBIs. A Toronto, Ontario native, Wright ranks among the conference leaders in slugging percentage (.436), hits (46) and hit-by-pitch (10).
In the classroom, Wright holds a 3.70 grade point average in criminology and criminal justice. Wright becomes the first Sycamore to receive Academic All-District recognition since Koby Kraemer in 2011.
After earning all-district honors, Wright is eligible for Academic All-American consideration. To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-American recognition, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, be in at least their second year at an institution and own a minimum GPA of 3.30.
