Three Things to Know
- There's a First Time for Everything
When Indiana State makes the trip north this weekend, it will be a first. This weekend's Valley series with the Crusaders will mark the first time Indiana State's softball program will travel to Valparaiso, who joined the league last season.
- Double Vision
Indiana State enters this weekend's action leading The Valley having turned 18 double plays this season. Missouri State (16) and Illinois State (15) rank second and third, respectively, in the conference.
- Barton, Sims Move Up on Runs Charts
If you see Shaye Barton or Leslie Sims on the base paths, beware. The duo both rank in the top 10 charts all-time at Indiana State for career runs scored. Sims, a junior, has crossed the plate 96 times in her career ranking fifth while Barton, a senior, has scored 90 times to rank eighth.
