TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State Head Women's Basketball Coach
Vicki Hall announced the signing of four to National Letters of Intent Wednesday.
The four signees – all hailing from junior colleges – will be juniors for the 2019-20 season with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
The signees in the spring signing period include two guards and two guard/forwards. This adds to the seven signees the program inked back in November bringing to the 2019 Signing Class to a total of 11 signees as of Wednesday.
LeAndra Echi is a 5-foot-8 guard originally from Beacon, New York that spent the last two seasons at Northwest Florida State College, leading her team to a No. 1 national ranking in the junior college ranks for nearly two months this past season. Ranked as the No. 97 JuCo prospect in the country by ESPN, she averaged 6.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.8 steals per game.
Marie Hunter is a 5-foot-7 guard originally from Marion, Arkansas that has spent the last two seasons at Wabash Valley Junior College. Originally signed out of high school to Wabash Valley by then head coach and now current Indiana State assistant coach
Luke Scheidecker, Hunter helped guide Wabash Valley to a 62-4 record over the last two years. This past year, she averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.1 steals while shooting 47.2 percent from the field.
CeCe Mayo is a 5-foot-11 guard/forward originally from Latham, New York that is ranked as the 56
th-best JuCo recruit in the nation according to ESPN. She spent the past season as a teammate of Echi's at Northwest Florida State College. She was the team's leading scorer with an average of 11.8 ppg while also averaging 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.3 steals. Mayo shot an astounding 61.8 percent from the field (155-for-251) this past season while leading her team to a No. 1 national ranking in the junior college ranks for nearly two months this past season.
Lauryn Snipes is a 6-foot-0 guard/forward originally from Wellington, Kansas that spent last season at Butler Community College where she averaged 7.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.5 spg. She guided her team to a 28-5 record and a conference regular season and tournament title.
