SERIES HISTORY
- This will be the 79th meeting between the two schools.
- Missouri State holds a 60-18 advantage in the all-time series and has won the last 10 contests. The Lady Bears have a 25-11 advantage in Terre Haute.
- The 11-game winning streak in the series by Missouri State is the longest streak for either team in the series history.
- Indiana State's last win in the series was a 73-37 dismantling of the Lady Bears in Springfield on Feb. 21, 2014.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
- Pomp and Circumstance
Saturday's contest will mark the final appearance on Nellie & John Wooden Court in Hulman Center for the program's six seniors. The sextet includes two players who have already obtained their undergraduate degree while the remaining four are on track to graduate.
- Lee Hitting 3-Pointers at Notable Rate
Indiana State redshirt senior Tamara Lee is making 3-pointers at a remarkable rate this year, so much so she is on pace to place in the top-10 charts for career 3-point field goal percentage in her short time at Indiana State. She enters this week ranked ninth all-time at Indiana State in 3-point field goal percentage.
- Turnovers the Norm
Indiana State opponents must be maddened when facing the Sycamores as ISU opponents turnover the ball on 25.0 percent of their possessions. That turnover rate for opponents ranks 10th in the nation while the average of 20.29 turnovers per game Sycamore opponents are averaging ranks 27th nationally. Both marks lead The Valley.
- Going to Battle
Ty Battle is seemingly coming into her own late in the season. Since hosting Drake on Jan. 25, Battle is averaging 12.0 points per game, is shooting 48.6 percent from the field and is bringing down an average of 8.4 rebounds per game, leading the team in all three categories. But the sophomore forward isn't just performing well on offense as she leads the team with 12 blocks and is one of four players with double digit steals (21) in that time frame.
- Rule of Eight
Indiana State will be the No. 8 seed at the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and the Sycamores enter Saturday's action awaiting their opponent. Evansville and Valparaiso are tied for ninth in the standings and Saturday's action will either split the two or send the league to its tie-breaking scenarios to determine the ninth and 10th seeds.
