Series History
- Belmont: ISU holds a 4-2 lead in a series that first began in 2004. The Trees have won three of the last four games with the lone loss going to extra innings to be decided.
- DePaul: This will be the first meeting between the Sycamores and Blue Demons since Ronald Reagan was President. ISU holds a 2-0 lead in the all-time series but the two prior meetings took place in 1987 and 1988.
- IUPUI: Become familiar with the Jags. ISU holds a 27-11 all-time lead but dropped last week's meeting, 8-3, in Louisville, Kentucky. The two teams are scheduled to meet in Indiana State's home opener next week.
- Memphis: This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the two schools in a series that did not begin until 2010. Memphis holds a 2-1 advantage in the series.
- Middle Tennessee: The only previous time Indiana State faced the Blue Raiders came in 1995. That game, played in Atlanta, ended as a 5-1 Sycamore victory.
Three Things to Know
- Mother Nature Batting 1.000
With the postponement of Tuesday's home opener, Mother Nature has made an impact on every week of the season to date. That streak could continue into this weekend with rain and scattered thunderstorms projected in Memphis.
- Can Sims Reach 100 Games?
Indiana State junior Leslie Sims has played in 99 consecutive games without getting caught stealing (she was a perfect 26-for-26 last season). She enters this weekend's action with one game to go before pushing that streak to triple digits.
- Shaye Scores
Sycamore senior Shaye Barton enters this week's action with 77 career runs scored, a mark that ranks 10th all-time in Indiana State history. She has the chance to steadily move up the charts, needing only five to tie Connie Fiems (1988-91) for ninth with 82 career runs scored.
