Indiana State Drops Series Finale to Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa – Indiana State dropped the series finale in the second game of a doubleheader at Drake Sunday afternoon with an 8-0, 5-inning final score in Des Moines.

The Sycamores (11-20, 1-7 Missouri Valley) were held hitless in the series finale, only drawing a pair of walks in the first inning but failing to take advantage of a runner in scoring position.

Meanwhile, Drake (21-13, 7-1) took advantage of three Indiana State errors while scoring eight runs on 11 hits in the game. The Bulldogs scored in every inning but the fourth and were led by Libby Ryan's 3-for-3 day at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI.

Nicole Timmons (9-7) was credited with the win in her complete game shutout performance, allowing only the two walks while striking out four. Gabbi Schnaiter (5-8) was charged with the loss after allowing five runs – only two of which were earned – on five hits in two innings.
