TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – After splitting a doubleheader at Illinois on Wednesday, Indiana State returns home to the friendly confines of Price Field this weekend to host a three-game Missouri Valley Conference series against Illinois State.
Â

Series History
Illinois State holds an 83-15 lead in the all-time series but last year's three games nearly turned the tables on the Redbirds. The Sycamores won the opener and nearly pulled off a first – winning the regular season series. The Trees ended up dropping consecutive one-run games to close the series, including a nine-inning, 6-5 decision in the series finale.

Three Things to Know
- B1G Win for the Trees
With a dominating nine runs on 15 hits, Indiana State registered a B1G win in a 9-2 victory at Illinois on Mar. 20 in the first game of a doubleheader. That marked consecutive wins over Big Ten Conference teams following the 3-2 win over Purdue last season. The nine runs were the most a Sycamore team has ever scored on the Fighting Illini. While the two-game winning streak over Big Ten teams ended with a 7-4 loss in the nightcap (ISU had the tying run at the plate when the game ended), the Sycamores have a chance for more wins over the league when they play at Purdue on Mar. 27.
- Hey Bai(ley)
Senior Bailey Martin is making the best of her senior year. Not only is she leading the Sycamores with a .415 batting average, her 34 hits leads the Missouri Valley Conference while ranking 81st nationally and her 12 stolen bases is second on the team only to Leslie Sims while ranking fifth in the Valley. Overall, she leads Indiana State in hits (34), batting average (.415) and on-base percentage (.449).
- BAM Goes the Ball
Indiana State catcher Brooke Mann (affectionately referred to by her teammates as Bam) has broken into the all-time top 10 charts at Indiana State. She enters this week's games with 13 career dingers in Terre Haute, tied with Shelby Wilson (2011-14) for fifth all-time at Indiana State. Mann needs one more dinger to tie Stacey Sparger (2000-03) for fourth all-time at ISU and two more dingers to match the 15 career home runs by Bailey Wittenauer (2009-11) that ranks third.
