TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Indiana State football team held the first of 14 spring practices Tuesday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. The Sycamores return nearly every starter from the offensive side of the ball and six starters from a much-improved defensive unit.
Third year head coach
Curt Mallory was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Coach of the Year at the conclusion of last season. Mallory and his staff completed the biggest turnaround in college football, leading the Sycamores to a 7-4 record, a third-place finish in the MVFC and a No. 22 national ranking.
The Sycamore defense is anchored by linebacker
Jonas Griffith who earned three All-American honors following his junior season while Indiana State returns MVFC Newcomer of the Year
Ryan Boyle at quarterback.
