Three Things to Know
- B1G Twinbills Coming Up
Indiana State will play a pair of mid-week contests in the next two weeks against Big Ten opponents and, thanks to the weather, that schedule is now seeing double. Single games at Illinois (March 20) and Purdue (March 27) have both been made doubleheaders as all teams involved look to makeup lost games that Mother Nature claimed for herself.
- Hey Bai(ley)
Senior Bailey Martin is making the best of her senior year. Not only is she leading the Sycamores with a .425 batting average, her 31 hits leads the Missouri Valley Conference and her 11 stolen bases is second on the team only to Leslie Sims while ranking fifth in the Valley. Overall, she leads Indiana State in hits (31), batting average (.425) and on-base percentage (.463).
- BAM Goes the Ball
Indiana State catcher Brooke Mann (affectionately referred to by her teammates as Bam) has broken into the all-time top 10 charts at Indiana State. She enters this week's games with 13 career dingers in Terre Haute, tied with Shelby Wilson (2011-14) for fifth all-time at Indiana State. Mann needs one more dinger to tie Stacey Sparger (2000-03) for fourth all-time at ISU and two more dingers to match the 15 career home runs by Bailey Wittenauer (2009-11) that ranks third. That includes home runs in back-to-back days on March 16-17 against Northern Iowa. She became the first Sycamore to achieve such a feat this season and the first since Rebecca Gibbs did so on Feb. 17-18 last year.
