TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State will open the 2019 campaign with a twin-bill Saturday when the Sycamores play a doubleheader at Stetson.
 
First pitch, originally slated for 1 p.m., has been moved up to 11 a.m. (ET) in an effort to avoid inclement weather projected for central Florida later in the day.
 
All three games of the series will be broadcast live on HatterVision (free broadcast) with live stats also available for all three games.
 
Series History

• This will be just the second time the two schools have met and the first time on either's campus.
• Stetson leads the all-time series, 1-0, after a 9-1 victory over ISU in Kissimmee, Florida on March 5, 2000.
• This will be Mike Perniciaro's first game coached against Stetson while Frank Griffin guided the Hatters against Indiana State in that 2000 meeting.

Three Things to Know

1. Season Two Starts Now
   The 2019 campaign gets underway with a Saturday doubleheader at Stetson marking the start of Mike Perniciaro's second year at Indiana State. His first season defied expectations – the Sycamores recorded their best finish in Missouri Valley Conference play (fifth) since 1991 – and he returns all nine lineup starters as well as all but one pitcher.
2. We're the Rodney Dangerfield of the Valley, apparently
   Simply because "We don't get no respect!" Despite a fifth-place finish and returning so many players, the league coaches projected Indiana State to finish seventh in the league's annual preseason poll. (On another note, how many currently players know of Rodney Dangerfield?!)
3. Flower Power
   It's hard to miss Bella Peterson during a game. That is simply because she brightens any diamond with her signature flower in her hair. But that Flower Power made an impact in the Valley after her freshman year as she was voted to the Missouri Valley Conference's Preseason All-Conference Team. Peterson was named to the league's first team at the conclusion of last season.
