TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State will send two volleyball players –
Nikkie White and
Madeline Williams - to try out for the U.S. Women's National Team at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, March 1-3.
The Sycamores join 212 athletes from 87 different colleges around the country vying for a spot on the team. The tryout will be led by three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly.
White, a sophomore, averaged 1.71 kills per set during the 2018 season, hitting .135, while averaging 1.36 digs per set on the season.
Williams, a freshman, hit .260 and averaged 1.94 kills per set in her rookie season for Indiana State. She finished the year second on the team with 75 total blocks, averaging 0.93 blocks per set.
The U.S. National Team Tryouts begin Friday, March 1, at 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT). Fans can live stream the tryouts at teamusa.org/usa-volleyball/video or visit teamusa.org/usa-volleyball for more information.
