Five Things to Know
- Chance to Bust Out the Brooms
A win Sunday over Valparaiso would give the Trees a chance to bust out the brooms by securing a season sweep for the first time this year.
- MACtion in the Valley
Sunday's matchup features a pair of head coaches that spent last season in the Mid-American Conference. Indiana State's Vicki Hall was an associate head coach at Toledo while Valparaiso's Mary Evans served as an assistant coach at Ohio University.
- More Giving February
Since the start of February, the Sycamores have been more giving towards each other ... and less giving to opponents. Through four games, assists are up and turnovers are down with two of those four games having a positive assist-to-turnover ratio.
- Hot Tamara
As the weather has gotten cold, Tamara Lee has gotten hot. Since Jan. 6, Lee has found her rhythm on the court by shooting nearly 40 percent from the field and averaging 12.0 ppg, including a team-best 41.5 percent mark from beyond the arc. She has also grabbed 12 steals in that time frame and is averaging a 73.7 percent mark from the free throw line.
- Cardiac Trees
Indiana State is keeping fans on the edge of their seats this season for a full 40 minutes each game. The Sycamores have played in 11 games that have been decided by 10 or fewer points, posting a 7-6 record in those games.
