Mallory Extended Through 2023

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State University and Head Football Coach Curt Mallory have agreed to a contract extension that will keep Mallory in Blue and White through the 2023 season.

"It is a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to lead this team and represent Indiana State University," said Mallory. "Our family loves Terre Haute, and I look forward to leading our football program into the future. Through academics, athletic development and through recruiting, we are building a championship culture that our fans can be proud of."

Mallory joined Indiana State from Wyoming in 2017 and has the Sycamore football program headed in the right direction. In 2018, Mallory led the Sycamores to a 7-4 overall record and a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Football Conference with wins over Quincy, Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Youngstown State, South Dakota, Illinois State and Western Illinois.

The Sycamores closed out the season with five-straight MVFC victories -- the first time ISU had won five consecutive MVFC contests since 2012. With the success on the field, ISU entered the Top-25 for the first time since 2016 and closed out the season with a No. 22 national ranking.

"We are excited about all that Coach Mallory has accomplished in his first two seasons and are looking forward to seeing where he will take our football program next," Indiana State President Deborah Curtis said. "He and his family are great assets to Indiana State and our community."

"The growth of this program is evident over the last two years," said Indiana State Director of Athletics Sherard Clinkscales. "Coach Mallory is building a team that excels on and off the field. He recruits at a very high level and is developing our student-athletes. He and his staff have raised the standard of what it means to be a Sycamore and I look forward to even more success as Coach Mallory continues to build the program."

The Sycamores will play a 12-game schedule in 2019 featuring seven games inside Memorial Stadium. The team will open the season at Big 12 foe Kansas in week one before playing three-straight games at home. Season ticket and single game ticket information for the 2019 season will be available in the coming weeks.
