TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Indiana State football alum Jameer Thurman has signed with the Chicago Bears, the organization announced Friday (Jan. 4).

A 2016 graduate of Indiana State, Thurman saw action in 48 games for the Sycamores before finishing his career with 340 tackles, the 11th most in program history. He earned Second Team All-MVFC his final season in Terre Haute before joining the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League in 2017.

Thurman went on to earn a starting linebacker spot during his rookie season and helped Calgary to a Grey Cup Championship the next year. In 35 regular-season games for Calgary, he made 134 defensive tackles, 29 special-teams tackles while recording three sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.
